Synopsis of the testimony of Abraham Shifris, born in 1916 in Belaya Tserkov, Ukraine.
In 1939 he was conscripted into the Soviet Red Army and fell captive to the Germans near the city of Uman. An informer revealed that Shifris was a Jew, and he was taken to be executed. He escaped and survived. He joined an army unit and fought in its ranks until the end of the war.
