Chaim was a member of the Gordonia movement and the district leadership in Warsaw. In May 1939, he immigrated clandestinely to Palestine on the ship "Atrato". His parents Yehuda and Tamara (nee Domb), as well as his siblings, perished in the Holocaust. Zehava, the daughter of Jochanan and Rachel – Ester (nee Fuerst) Malinowicer, immigrated on the same ship. The file contains letters and postcards sent to the couple by their families, including their parents, Zehava's uncle Srulik in the Urals, her brother Nechemja, and Chaim's sister Regina, as well as letters from friends, including one named David. The letters were sent between 1939 and 1941 from Bedzin, Sosnowiec and Magnitogorsk.
The file also contains a postcards sent by Anna Malinowicer from Bedzin to Anna Preis in New York, 1940, and a postcard from Szlomo Lubniecki to Dov Holdstajn.
The file also contains a booklet made by the donor in 2008 in memory of her perished family, which contains translations of the letters in the file. Close
