A group photograph of Jewish forced laborers in Slovakia. Many of them are holding spades. Photographed in 1940 in the forced labor camp in the town of Piestany.
Jews from Piestany and from Presov in eastern Slovakia were sent to the camp for forced labor. They were quartered in army barracks and supervised by the Slovakian army. The main purpose of the work was to humiliate the Jews.
