Holocaust survivors being transported by British army vehicles and who were apprehended by British authorities in Austria.
The British stopped this convoy of the "Irgun Ha - Bricha" in Keplech, but since the leaders of the convoy knew that the British were involved in illegal acts, such as selling food on the black market, the parties agreed upon a mutual pact of silence and the convoy was allowed to continue on its way.
Note: "Irgun Ha - Bricha" [Hebrew: flight, escape]: a movement and organization for smuggling Jews out of Eastern Europe to central and southern Europe, 1944 - 1948, with the ultimate objective of immigration to Palestine. Close
