A music teacher playing the violin in the school for the children of DPs and refugees in the Dachau DP camp. The school was set up in the building that had served as the "hospital" when Dachau was a concentration camp. Photographed on Feb. 17, 1950.
Note: This camp was populated by DPs from Eastern Europe (Latvia, the Ukraine and other countries) who preferred not (or feared) to return to their own countries, as well as Germans expelled from areas under control of Eastern European countries. Close
