Jews in Amsterdam at an assembly point, prior to their deportation to the Westerbork camp. They have a Jewish badge on their chests. Photographed in May 1943 at the Polderweg (Polder Road) railway station that served as an assembly point for the deportees.
Note: the deportation of the Jews from Amsterdam was carried out from July 1942 until September 1943. The Jews were transferred to the Westerbork transit camp, from which they were initially sent to Auschwitz – Birkenau and starting in 1943 to the Sobibor extermination camp.
